In November 2008, there was a farmer’s market held at the Mueller Airport Development. Mueller Austin is often given accolades for being one of the nation’s greenest projects (e.g. this rating by Natural Home), and it attracts residents looking for a new urbanist lifestyle.

Here’s pioneer Mueller resident Dusty Harshman‘s latest news about the potential of more Farmer’s Markets at Mueller:

“Would you be interested in attracting and supporting a Farmer’s Market at Mueller’s Browning Hanger? Austin Farmer’s Market, who currently coordinate the Downtown Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings and the Triangle Farmer’s Market on Wednesday evenings, is evaluating Mueller as a potential site for a regular market.

As you may know, they held a “special one time event” farmer’s market in November that was well-attended, and they would like to continue if the community shows support. This is a real opportunity for the neighborhoods of East Austin to build a community-gathering event that also supports the farmers of Travis County (many of whom are also on the eastside).
